handsawing

The hand saw has proven to be the most revolutionary tool in the professional concrete sawing and drilling industry.  It efficiently cuts concrete, block and brick – hollow or filled, and is second to none when cutting in those hard to reach areas.

Hand sawing is commonly employed when general wall sawing can't be performed as they are light weight, very portable and have up to 10 horsepower.

Our Concrete Cutters use this type of saw for cutting openings in poured foundation walls for large openings, electrical, plumbing and mechanical penetrations.

There are a few different types of hand saws – There is the general hand saw, extremely versatile, and cuts up to 150mm in depth. Then there is the Ring Saw it is used for deeper cutting up to a depth of 260mm. Then there is the Hydraulic Hand and Ring  Saw they are used to enable cutting inside buildings or tight/confined areas without any fumes.

wallsawing

Although the applications for this type of saw are endless, typically they are used to achieve an accurate, straight and smooth finish for openings in walls, ceilings and floors and requires minimal patching.

Wall sawing is used to cut precise openings for doorways, ventilation units and windows. Specialized applications such as finishing roughed-in walls can also be performed. Wall sawing employs a diamond blade on a track-mounted system that can be used for vertical and horizontal cuts. This set-up can also be used on steep inclined surfaces where a flat saw cannot be safely used. The track mounted wall saw's operation allows for long, straight, cutting of brick, block or reinforced concrete up to 700mm thick with access from one side.

Used mainly on vertical surfaces, this saw can cut quickly and accurately from any position... even upside down. It can be mounted at an angle or adapted for flush cutting next to a wall or along a floor where needed. The convenience of sawing and completely removing many openings in one day can not be matched by any other method.

chainsawing

The Chainsaw is an extraordinarily versatile tool in the professional concrete sawing and drilling industry. It efficiently cuts concrete, block and brick – hollow or filled, and is second to none when cutting in those hard to reach areas.

It enables cutting of irregular shapes, in the most confined areas and cutting out square penetrations with perfect square corners eliminating over cutting. The chainsaw has the ability to cut small penetrations and deep plunge cuts up to depths 540mm. They are light weight, very portable and have 15 horsepower.

green cutting

Green Cutting (Soff Cut Sawing) is the cutting of surfaces with the objective of controlling random cracking as concrete hydrates and begins to set, it develops internal stresses. Soff-Cutting is performed to relieve these stresses before they seek their own relief in the form of a random crack.

Of the problems facing concrete contractors, random cracking is among the most costly and aggravating. Using the Soff-Cut system, sawing of control joints occurs in the Green Zone – within the first hour or two after finishing, as apposed to conventional sawing (flat sawing) after final set.

The Soff-Cut technology is based on the combination of the Soff-Cut blade and Skid Plate. The up-cutting rotation of the blade combined with the Skid Plate, which applies pressure to the surface to prevent chipping or spalling. Our Professional Concrete Cutters, along with top of the line equipment allows us to green cut up to a depth of 76mm.
